The Terry Fox Run is a non-competitive, inclusive run/walk bringing people together in pursuit of Terry’s dream of a world without cancer. Register online in advance (preferred) or in person on run day.
There is no registration fee to participate – participants are encouraged to donate what they can/wish and/or are encouraged to fundraise. T-shirts will be available for purchase on site. All funds raised support innovative cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗿𝗿𝘆:
Terry Fox was just 18 when he was diagnosed with osteogenic sarcoma and had his right leg amputated six inches above the knee (1977). Three years later, on April 12, 1980, Terry set off to run across Canada to raise money for cancer research. Terry ran for 143 days, running a total of 3339 miles before having to stop, as cancer returned, this time in his lungs. While Terry sadly passed away the following June, his legacy was just beginning. To date, over $US650 million has been raised worldwide for cancer research in Terry’s name through the annual Terry Fox Run, held around the world.
